Mother

Carrie Thompson

Mother Carrie has been the Parish Priest (Vicar) of Forton since January 2008.

She comes originally from South London, and has lived there most of her life.
She trained for the Priesthood at Saint Stephen’s House, Oxford, and served her Title Curacy in the Parish of Saint Giles with Saint Matthew, Camberwell.

Her interests include reading, music, football and wearing peculiar hats.  She hates injustice, cooking and shopping for curtains.

Mother Carrie is usually available in the Parish every day except Fridays.  She is happy to carry out home blessings and home Communions, hear Confessions and visit the sick and housebound on request - or just meet up for a chat.  Her contact details are here

As part of her work in the Parish, Mother Carrie is Chaplain of St. Vincent College and sits on the Governing Body of St John’s Primary School.  Further afield, she is also the Chaplain of Morland Choristers’ Camp, a residential course for young people which takes place each summer in the village of Morland in Cumbria.

She shares the Vicarage in Spring Garden Lane with two cats, Mary and Martha.
