The Eagles club is lively and energetic and very well attended. As well as games, cooking and craft, during Lent the children pray and are taken through the Stations of the Cross. Throughout the year they have simple, short devotions, related to the church year. The Eagles club is a most important and much needed outreach to the community.

Sat 6th December 2008- 'Pickles & Brine'

This group started around 2002. The concept was derived from the sociologists’ label given to the generation born after 1961. There was a significant number of adults in the congregation who fitted this category, many of whom were new to St John’s, so the group was formed. It has provided a venue for forming friendships as well as creating a greater sense of integration into parish life generally.

The group meets bi-monthly, with each person bringing a themed dish (main course or dessert) to create the buffet. It has been a great success.

The Cocktail Set provides occasional social get-togethers for those who were born prior to 1962. Meeting for the first time in February 2007, it is planned to meet a few times a year either to have supper, theatre trips, play skittles or any other social penchant that members would enjoy.
